MANUAL OF RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT 2005 INTRODUCTION

The enactment of the Right to Information Act, 2005 is a historic event, and took a major role in democratic India. Gathering information is a tool in hands of citizen to utilize it according to the interests of the public and right to access information “held by or under control of “the public authorities. Concurrently, it is the duty of all public authorities to provide information sought by citizens. A remarkable change can be achieved towards transparency and accountability in the governance by implementing the Act. The section 4(1)(a) of the Right to Information Act, 2005 casts an obligation on every public authority to maintain all its records duly catalogued and indexe4d in a manner and the form which facilitates the right to information and ensure within a reasonable time and subject to availability of resources and section 4(1)(b) casts an obligation on every public authority to publish information of different manuals referred there in. Accordingly the information relating to Office of the Superintendent, King George Hospital, Visakhapatnam is prepared in the shape as prescribed in the manuals referred in section 4(1)(b) of the Act, which can be useful to the citizens, Public representatives, Officers and employees of public authorities.
