Urology was started in 1970 as a superspeciality branch in the state along with the 2nd at Hyderabad. The first professor was Dr. D. Chengal Roy. It provides training to UG, PG & M.Ch. students M.Ch. was started in 1980. Till now, 13 candidates have been awarded M.Ch. The department has 28 beds. Several papers have been presented by the department.
