SuperSpeciality

 

The Super Speciality courses at the Andhra Medical College are affiliated to NTR University of Health Services in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The Regulations mentioned below under the various categories of Course seats available, Entrance test, Mode of selection and Admission closure etc shall apply to Super Specialty courses (also called second Post Graduation courses) which are available at the affiliated Medical Colleges.

Entrance Test:

a)

Entrance Test for admission to the Post Graduation courses will be set in objective type. Each course shall have a separate paper containing 90 multiple choice questions to be answered within a span of one and half hours.

b)

The syllabus for the entrance test shall be that of MD/MS standard of NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada.

c)

Minimum marks required to qualify in the entrance test shall be 50%.

d)

The merit list for the qualified candidates shall be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance test separately for each course.

e)

If two candidates get equal marks in the entrance test, marks obtained in MBBS upto two decimal places shall be taken into consideration for fixing the merit of the candidates. In case of equality of marks in entrance test and percentage of marks in MBBS, the marks obtained in the final year of MBBS upto two decimal places shall be taken into consideration for fixing the merit of the candidates.


Method of selection:

a)

Selection will be made by the Selection Committee constituted by the University.

b)

The selection of candidates shall be strictly in accordance with merit based on the rank obtained in the Entrance test subject to Regulations.


Closure of admissions:

Stipends will be paid to the candidates as per the rates applicable and who are regular in attendance and so long as the Government continues the existing scheme. The total period during which the stipends are paid to the students shall not exceed a period of 36 months.


Period of Training:

The period of training shall be of three years duration in the Department concerned. A candidate admitted into DM/M.Ch. course shall pass the examination within three years from the date of completion of course. If he/she fails to pass the examination within the period specified above, he/she shall not be permitted to appear for the examination there-after and qualify for the award of DM/M.Ch. degree.
