The Department of Pharmacology was started during the year 1924 with Dr Varghese as the first professor. The department was shifted to its existing location today in the year 1932. Post graduate training at the department commenced in 1946. The department has a large collection of drug samples, crude drugs, charts and photographs of the scientists. The department has been actively involved in conducting 'integrated teaching programmes'. An educational tour to any pharmaceutical company is being conducted on a yearly basis for the students. The central animal house is presently under the control of the pharmacology department and is located near the twin lecture gallery.

PRIZE / MERIT CERTIFICATES: Two merit certificates are awarded to meritorious students with Merit certificates I & II.
